1986 BMW 525E

The "E" stands for eta (Greek letter 𝜂) representing efficiency. The 2.7-liter engine was designed for high torque at low RPMs, improved fuel efficiency, and a smooth driving experience. The engine was mated to a long geared 4 speed auto that was perfectly matched to the high torque at low revs output of the engine. It was aimed at relaxed cruising rather than high-performance driving and offered better fuel economy than the 520i, while providing better low-down torque.  

This lovely example in Cosmos Blue with a Blue Houndstooth interior is specified with electric front windows, a tilt and slide sunroof and rare switchable automatic that provides both an economy and sports mode.

It has just undergone a light recommissioning, which included an oil and brake fluid service, cambelt change, new radiator and 4 brand new Michelin TRX tyres to match the OEM Metric wheels.  It has also had just benefited from a custom built stainless steel exhaust from the front down pipes back.

The service book evidences regular servicing over the years.

With just 3 owners and a little under 74k miles from new, similar 525Es in this condition are becoming very hard to find now.
