Experience open-air grandeur in a true British icon that is the Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante. Built between 1999 and 2003, it delivers effortless performance and a captivating sound track from its powerful 5.9-liter V12 engine, whilst cosseting you in the luxury and finish Aston Martins are renowned for.
Finished in Aston Martin’s classic “Tungsten Silver”, with a beautifully contrasting Stone and Charcoal interior, this example presents in stunning condition inside and out. It has been meticulously maintained throughout its life, boasting comprehensive parts and service invoices, a service book with 22 stamps to June 2025, every MOT certificate issued and with just 1 failure, it has an almost perfect pass record to date.
With just under 55k miles from new, it averages out at around 2,400 miles a year. This demonstrates it’s been used, but conservatively. This is important, as super low mileage cars, whilst potentially attractive, can lead to significant “recommissioning” costs, if unused for lengthy periods of time.
Optioned from factory with the 5 speed Touchtronic automatic transmission, it provides for either fully automatic gear changes, or for more involved driving, manual changes may be made via the gear stick or steering wheel mounted buttons. The car also comes with an upgraded touch screen Alpine Multi Media player with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as built in Navigation.
The importance of a detailed and comprehensive maintenance record, cannot be overstressed for the DB7 Volante Vantage. With such a record, this example in superb condition and sought after colour combination, makes for a refined yet potent open-top modern classic grand tourer. Needless to say, it would make for a stylish and exciting companion for daily driving, weekend outings and longer-distance road trips alike.
There’s a certain kind of elegance that doesn’t shout, it simply arrives, perfectly tailored and impossibly refined. From the very first glance, this grand tourer strikes a balance between raw British charisma and continental finesse. Draped in Tungsten Silver, a shade that lives somewhere between liquid metal and storm cloud, the DB7 Vantage Volante, appears sculpted rather than assembled.
The bodywork shows no sign of any dents, dings or impact damage, nor any mis-aligned panels or untoward gaps. There are, naturally, a few light wear marks as you’d expect from a car of this era, a touched-in stone chip to the front end and very small parking chips on the trailing edges of the doors. As part of our pre-sales preparation, the car bodywork was treated to a full detail and high end wax finish, by our professional detailing partner.
All lights including the headlights are in good order and free from damage, as is all chrome work and badging. This car also features the factory optioned stainless steel wire mesh upper and lower grilles, as well as a pair of large bore tail pipe finishers large, both adding to the overall aesthetic of the car, when compared to standard.
Finally, the fabric hood which incorporates a glass rear window with demister comes with a matching tonneau cover. It is in very good condition with no rips, tears or loose stitching. Some very minor wear marks are evident on the main fold areas, as to be expected on anything, but new roof. In addition, as part of the pre-sales preparation, the roof was given a full Fabsil Gold waterproofing treatment. The powered hood raises and lowers as it should, at the touch of a button.
As to be expected from an Aston Martin, the cabin is a lovely place to be. Superb Connolly leather seats provide both driver and passenger with essential support when driving at speed, but without compromise to the high levels of comfort and luxury, synonymous with this Marque. Finished in “Stone” with contrasting “Charcoal” seat sides, backs and door card tops, they make for an attractive offset to the Tungsten Silver exterior. In addition, the generous application of burr walnut throughout the cabin, further adds to the overall sense of luxury and style.
The seats which are powered and heated are in lovely condition, with just the slightest signs of wear evident on the driver’s outside bolster. All other leather work in the car is also in excellent condition and the burr walnut is free from fade, lacquer peel and scratches.
The carpets are in great shape having been protected with custom driver and passenger over mats and the factory optioned satin finished drilled aluminium pedal pads, add a sporty touch to the driver’s footwell.
All electrics and gauges work as they should, including powered seats, windows, mirrors and climate control and the air conditioning blows cold, having just been re-gassed at its last service in June.
The car’s original Becker Indianapolis head unit has been replaced with an Alpine flip out touch screen Multi Media IVA-D511 RB unit, that combines a cd/radio player with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, as well as a Navigation system. There is also a 6 cd multiplayer located in the boot of the car.
The boot presents well and contains the factory tyre inflation kit instead of a spare wheel, full factory tool kit which includes a spare bulb set and warning triangle.
The first twelve cylinder engine in Aston Martin’s history, powers the DB7 Vantage Volante and is still going strong in later cars such as the Aston Martin Rapide.
Developing 420 bhp at 6000 rpm, the engine powers the DB7 Vantage Volante to a top speed limited to 165 mph, with 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds In addition to producing supreme levels of outright power, the engine’s flat torque curve ensures truly impressive “real world” performance, where 85% of maximum torque is delivered at only 1500 rpm, all the time accompanied by the wonderfully sonorous engine and exhaust note from the 5.9 litre V12.
With a total of 22 stamps across 2 service books, from a mixture of Aston Martin dealers and independent specialists, it is clear that the car has been
exceptionally well maintained, with its most recent service in June of this year. Indeed, a spreadsheet in the documents folder evidences over £56k spent on maintenance/parts over the period 2003 to 2020, with a further £4.3k, from 2020 to date.
Such fastidious maintenance results in a car that drives beautifully and feels every bit as good as a car this well cared for should.
The factory optioned Touchtronic offers a choice of 3 electronically controlled operating modes, enabling the driver to select either standard automatic, sport automatic or sequential manual mode, operated by moving the gear lever backwards and forwards when in sport mode, or via steering wheel mounted buttons. Gear changes are relaxed and silky smooth in automatic mode, becoming more rapid to ensure maximum use of power in sport mode.
Whilst the original 6 cylinder DB7 was renowned for its superb balance of ride and handling, this was further enhanced in DB7 Vantage with revised steering, suspension geometry and retuned springs and dampers. Rear suspension linkages were also specifically redesigned to ensure smooth power delivery. The result is a comfortable but sporty ride, with no scuttle shake, knocks or bangs from the suspension, always difficult to achieve with a convertible car.
Finally, a limited slip differential ensures optimum traction. Where conditions require, the advanced switchable traction control system intervenes, instantly reducing engine power and through the ABS system, simultaneously applying the appropriate rear brake, to restore grip.
The car sits on attractive 10 spoke lightweight alloy wheels, fitted with Bridgestone 245/40 ZR 18 (front) and 265/35 ZR18 (back) tyres, all with significant tread left. The most recent MOT identified low tread on the nearside front tyre, so for proper balance, both front tyres were replaced as a pair at its most recent service in June.
The wheels are in excellent condition having been freshly refurbished and brand new centre caps fitted.
Braking is provided via massive ventilated cross-drilled discs, with aluminium four piston callipers painted in black, which combined with four channel electronic ABS, provide immense stopping power.
As part of the pre-sales process, the car underwent our proprietary underside preservation treatment. This involved a thorough cleaning and inspection of the car’s underside. Any surface corrosion to metal components identified was wire brushed clean and treated with rust converter. In addition, both front and rear cross braces and front lower and rear upper suspension arms, were coated with POR 15, an anti-corrosion paint that adheres chemically to metal componentry, providing an incredibly hard and long lasting protective coating. Finally, all other mechanical componentry susceptible to corrosion, including engine sump cover, gearbox casing, floor pans, springs, brake lines, dust shields, callipers, drive shafts and inner wheel arches, were all coated with Dinitrol clear anti corrosion wax.
This provides for a further level of corrosion resistance to those areas, which is long lasting salt, acid and alkaline resistant, as well as jet wash proof. This all adds up to a car that has outstanding protection from corrosion, typically unavoidable, for cars driven on UK roads all year round.
The history file contains the current V5C and a clear HPI vehicle check report dated 8 August 2025.
There is a detailed file of maintenance and parts invoices spanning the period since 2003 to date. Helpfully, the file has also provides a spreadsheet setting out the year by year detailed breakdown of all maintenance and parts costs over the period 2003 to 2020. This provides excellent evidence of the exceptional level of investment that has gone into keeping the car in first class condition.
The car comes with a FSH with two service books containing a total of 22 stamps to date, from a mixture of main dealers and independent specialists. There is also a collection of MOT certificates from 2006 to its most recent in 2025. We understand this to be the full collection of MOTs certificates, the car has ever been issued with.
The history file also includes the original leather bound Owner’s Manual which contains the service books. It also comes with the technical manual for the aftermarket Alpine Bluetooth Audio System. In addition, the file also contains the original operating manual and the original Becker Indianapolis head unit, if a new owner wanted to re-install it. Finally, the car comes with two sets of keys and fobs.
