An exceptional example of the most desirable model in the Porsche 986 Boxster range. The facelifted 3.2-litre Boxster S was available in the UK from 2003 to 2004. With just 25,180 miles from new and with an impressive factory specification, this low-mileage, six-speed manual example represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the finest 986 Boxsters available today.
Power comes from Porsche's naturally aspirated 3.2-litre flat-six, developing 260 bhp and mated to a precise six-speed manual gearbox. Combined with its mid-engine layout, uprated sports suspension and larger cross-drilled brakes, the facelift Boxster S is widely regarded as one of the best-handling sports cars of its era.
Originally built by Porsche as a highly specified showroom and demonstration vehicle for the Porsche Centre Kendal, the car attracted immediate interest from its eventual first owner. Although payment was taken in March 2003, Porsche retained the vehicle for a further two months before finally releasing it to the dealer, with delivery taking place in May 2003. During this period the car remained in storage and was never used.
This Boxster S has enjoyed a most pampered life and has been maintained to an outstanding standard throughout.
Although a lightly used car and as such in very good condition, it was decided to make this a truly exceptional example. As such, prior to entering professional storage with us at the end of 2025, it underwent a comprehensive detailing programme, which included paint correction and enhancement, a premium paint protecting ceramic coating, full wheel refurbishment, interior and hood deep clean, detailing and protection. Not stopping with the bodywork, the underside, inner wheelarches and engine bay were subject to an extensive Ice Blast cleaning and protective recoating treatment. The end result being over £6,000 invested and a car that now presents almost as new.
Mechanically, the car has just benefited from a major service in September, as well as a fresh MOT with no advisories.
The facelift 986 Boxster S is increasingly recognised as the standout model of the 986 generation and has firmly established itself as a modern Porsche classic. Combining low mileage, a desirable six-speed manual gearbox, exceptional condition, extensive history and an outstanding factory specification, this is a genuinely rare opportunity to acquire a highly rewarding driver's car with growing collector appeal.

Finished in the timeless Arctic Silver Metallic, the car presents superbly overall. The colour very much accentuates the curvaceous styling. The “Porsche” side decals add a touch of heritage from Porsche’s racing history, and the rare removable speed humps transform the side and rear profile of the car.
The paintwork is superb, having undergone professional paint correction, detailing and ceramic coating in late 2025, before being immediately placed into storage. As a result, it retains an outstanding depth of finish and near-showroom presentation.
As a facelift model, clear lenses replace earlier orange indicator lenses for a more modern look and this car was optioned with the upgraded “Litronic” Xenon headlights, for improved night time performance. All badges, glass and lights are in very good condition.
The electrically operated hood is equally impressive, operating flawlessly and showing no signs of fading or damage. Professionally cleaned and reproofed as part of the car's pre-sales preparation, it is complemented by the facelift model's heated glass rear screen, a significant upgrade over earlier cars.
Features:
Inside, the cabin has optional full leather upholstery in Metrople Blue which is in superb condition and contrasts beautifully with the Arctic Silver Metallic exterior. Optioned with the hardbacked sports seats, the seat bolsters keep their original shape and structure, with negligible wear that matches the very low mileage.
The original switchgear, leather steering wheel and dashboard remain in fantastic condition. The original carpets and Porsche over mats are also in outstanding condition. Every control including the air conditioned climate control, operates as Porsche intended and the interior shows only the most minimum of wear throughout.
The car comes with its complete factory tool kit, a tailored Classic Editions soft indoor cover and covers for the removable speed humps.
The factory options list is extensive.
Features:
At its heart is Porsche's superb 3.2-litre naturally aspirated flat-six, producing 260 bhp and paired with the desirable six-speed manual gearbox. Factory-optioned with the sought-after M030 Sports Suspension package, it features uprated springs and dampers, thicker anti-roll bars and a lowered ride height. The result is a raw, analogue driving experience that modern sports cars struggle to replicate and is the reason why this is arguably the most desirable 986 Boxster S specification.
The car starts instantly, runs beautifully and performs exactly as it should, with smooth power delivery, no unwanted noises and no smoke.
It has had mostly main dealer maintenance throughout its life, with just two independent Porsche specialists from 14 stamps in its service book. It benefitted from a major service in September, which also included, new plugs, coil packs, drive belts and brake fluid change.
The car is fitted with highly attractive 18-inch two-piece Porsche Sport Design wheels, all in superb, unmarked condition following a full refurbishment as part of the car’s late-2025 enhancement programme. It runs on Porsche N3-approved Michelin Pilot Sport tyres in the correct OEM sizes: 205/55 ZR18 at the front and 265/35 ZR18 at the rear, all with significant tread remaining.
As a facelift 3.2S model, the car is equipped with upgraded brakes front and rear, featuring red-finished four-piston Brembo aluminium callipers. Disc sizes are 318mm at the front and 299mm at the rear, with both ventilated and cross-drilled for enhanced performance and cooling.
The car comes with its original unused 17-inch steel space-saver spare wheel.
Prior to entering professional storage in late 2025, the car underwent a comprehensive ice-blast cleaning and preservation programme, with the exceptional results clearly shown in the photographs.
The underside, wheel arches and drive train, suspension, braking and associated components were meticulously cleaned before being treated with specialist anti-corrosion coatings tailored to each surface. This provides protection beyond the factory standard while preserving the car’s original appearance and finish.
The result is an underside that presents remarkably close to factory fresh, with an added level of protection that reflects the same meticulous care and attention evident throughout the rest of the car.
The car is accompanied by its original purchase invoice from the Porsche Centre Kendal, confirming a total purchase price of £47,000 including factory options. It also comes with the current V5C, a clear Total Car Check report and the original dealer book pack, which includes the driver’s manual, service booklet and ten additional factory booklets, together with the original PCM Navigation Europe booklet and CD discs.
The documents folder contains a comprehensive set of service, maintenance and parts invoices, from 2004 to current year, which includes a 4 year guarantees for the battery, that was purchased August 2025.
There are two separate option decoder reports, which detail the car’s factory build specification.
Alongside the current MOT certificate and a selection of previous certificates, the accompanying Total Car Check report provides a complete MOT history from 2006 to the present day. Impressively, it records just a single MOT failure during that time, in 2012.
The report also shows consistent year-on-year use throughout the car's life. While annual mileage has varied, the car has been regularly exercised and maintained, rather than left unused for extended periods.
The service history as per the stamps in the service book and invoices in the documented history folder, are set out below:
Finally, the car comes with 2 sets of keys and the battery is fitted with a quick connector lead for a CTEK smart charger.
