VEHICLE OVERVIEW

Elegant, refined and effortlessly quick, the Aston Martin DB9 remains one of the great modern grand tourers. Powered by Aston Martin’s charismatic 5.9-litre V12, it delivers effortless performance, a wonderfully evocative soundtrack and the sort of long-distance composure that has made the DB9 such an enduringly desirable modern classic.

Finished in Onyx Black with a subtly contrasting Phantom Grey leather and Piano Black interior, this example presents superbly inside and out. Its condition is further underlined by previous Aston Martin Owners Club Concours success, including runner-up in the AMOC Elite Concours — a class reserved for the very best Aston Martin examples across all categories.

Supplied new by Grange Aston (Welwyn) Ltd in April 2005, the car has covered just 44,970 miles from new and has clearly been cherished throughout its life. The service record is exceptional, showing 23 stamps to date, with the most recent service carried out in September 2026.

The 6-speed Touchtronic transmission offers both refined automatic progress and paddle-operated gear shifts when desired, perfectly suiting the DB9’s dual character as both relaxed continent-crossing GT and engaging V12 sports coupe. Desirable equipment includes the upgraded Linn 260W audio system, electrically adjustable heated seats with powered back bolsters, heated windscreen, chrome grille, power-fold mirrors and 19-inch 10-spoke Speedline alloy wheels.

Accompanying the car is a comprehensive history file, including the build sheet, original leather-bound owner’s manual and service booklet, a clear HPI report dated October 2026, a collection of MOT certificates, a copy of the April 2017 Autocar magazine in which the car features, and coverage of its AMOC Concours success in AM Quarterly magazine.

Combining timeless Aston Martin styling, a highly attractive specification, award-winning provenance and mileage-defying condition, this DB9 represents a particularly compelling opportunity. Equally suited to weekend escapes, European touring or simply enjoying one of the finest V12 grand tourers of its era, it is a car with genuine presence, pedigree and occasion.

Please note that the car will not be sold with the current private registration number, but returned to the original number it was registered with.

EXTERIOR

Onyx Black is an elegant choice that suits the DB9 silhouette perfectly. Moreover the paint has a subtle bronze fleck within the paint that really makes for the paintwork dazzle, in bright light or direct sunlight. The paintwork’s overall condition is excellent with no evidence of car park dinks or corrosion anywhere, as would be expected of a concours wining car. There is evidence of some very minor stone chipping on the front bumper, however, the factory PPF on the front of the rear arches has protected them well.

As part of the pre-sales preparation, the paintwork was treated to a comprehensive detailing, culminating in the application of Swisswax's remarkable Crystal Rock car wax. This cutting-edge car wax contains an impressive 76% Brazilian ivory carnauba wax by volume, forming a sleek and lustrous shield on the car's paintwork. Not only does it provide a durable and water-resistant barrier, but it also boasts a longevity far exceeding all other high carnauba content waxes.

The car was optioned with the chrome grill which contrasts beautifully with the black paint. All brightwork and badging is still in perfect condition as is all the glass.  The headlights are crystal clear and free from any scratches of cracking.

INTERIOR & EQUIPMENT

Open the door and you're greeted by a lavishly appointed cabin. The Phantom Grey leather upholstery with contrast coloured stitching, makes a subtle contrast against the black exterior.  This is further enhanced by the satin aluminium centre console and glossy Piano Black fascia trim.

The deeply supportive sports seats are very well presented, with only the very slightest of wear beginning to show on the driver’s seat. The passenger and rear seats appear virtually unused. The suede headliner is unmarked and with no signs of sagging.

Included with the car are the tyre repair kit (sealant and air compressor) and an Aston Martin battery conditioner.

ENGINE, TRANSMISSION & SUSPENSION

Under the bonnet sits a beautifully crafted 5,935cc, 48valve, naturally aspirated V12, inspired by Aston Martin’s legendary Le Mans racing heritage. Identified by its AM04/1 engine number, this example features the later Colognebuilt unit, widely regarded by enthusiasts as the more robust and reliable evolution compared with the earlier AM04/0 Cosworthbuilt engines.

Power delivery is smooth and linear, building into a distinctive “rising crescendo” as the revs climb. This is no relaxed cruiser; instead, it is a performancefocused engine that delivers increasingly urgent acceleration beyond 4,000 rpm. Despite its willingness to rev, over 80% of peak torque is available from just 1,500 rpm, ensuring effortless overtaking and strong response at any speed.

The Touchtronic 2 gearbox (an improved version of the one fitted to the previous DB7) is a perfect accompaniment: it can be operated manually using the paddle shifts, or simply enjoyed in full automatic mode.

The car has a comprehensive service history with 23 stamps to date, from mainly Aston Martin dealers. Its most recent service was completed in September 2026 at 44,952 miles, which included replacement of rear brake pads and sensors.

WHEELS, BRAKES & TYRES

The car sits on factory optional 19-inch 10-spoke Speedline alloy wheels, all in perfect unmarked condition.. They are fitted with a matching set of Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres, in OEM 2235/40/ZR19 fronts and 75/35/ZR19 rears, all with significant tread remaining and all date stamped either 2022 or 2023.

The brakes are in fine operational condition having been checked at its most recent service and the rear pads and sensors changed. The tastefully specified grey painted brake callipers also present very well, with only a few small marks to report on very close inspection.

UNDERSIDE

The Aston Martin DB9, was the first car built on the revolutionary VH (Vertical/Horizontal) platform, featuring a lightweight, rigid structure made of bonded and riveted aluminium that’s light weight.

As a former concours car, it would be expected that the car would present very well underneath and as can be seen from the pictures this car does not disappoint.

Minimal pre-sales preparation was needed underneath the car and to the inner wheel arches beyond a general inspection and some light cleaning.  Any areas of known to suffer from corrosion, such as the rear sub-frame were preventively treated with clear Dinitrol anti-corrosion products.  This provides for an additional layer of protection to the car without detracting from the original factory finish appearance.
